Here are three fusion-style cranberry sauce recipes you can pick from depending on the vibe you want at your table:
Indian-Spiced Cranberry Chutney
Sweet, tangy, and aromatic — pairs beautifully with lentil loaf, roasted veggies, or even samosas!
Ingredients
12 oz (1 bag) fresh or frozen cranberries
½ cup brown sugar (adjust to taste)
½ cup orange juice or water
1 tbsp grated ginger
½ tsp cumin seeds
½ tsp mustard seeds
½ tsp garam masala
¼ tsp chili flakes (optional)
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
Pinch of salt
Instructions
In a saucepan, dry-toast cumin and mustard seeds until they pop.
Add orange juice, sugar, and ginger. Bring to a simmer.
Add cranberries and cook on medium until they burst (about 10–12 minutes).
Stir in garam masala, chili flakes, and vinegar.
Simmer until thickened. Cool before serving — it’ll thicken more as it chills.
Tip: This doubles as a spread for wraps or as a glaze for roasted veggies.
Cranberry–Lime & Cilantro Salsa
Zesty and refreshing — almost like a cranberry pico de gallo.
Ingredients
2 cups fresh cranberries
1 small jalapeño, seeded and chopped
¼ cup red onion, finely diced
Zest and juice of 1 lime
2 tbsp maple syrup or agave
Handful of fresh cilantro
Salt to taste
Instructions
Pulse cranberries in a food processor until coarsely chopped (don’t puree).
Mix in remaining ingredients and chill for 1 hour before serving.
Great with: Roasted sweet potatoes, vegan turkey, or tortilla chips as an appetizer.
Asian-Fusion Cranberry Sauce with Ginger & Soy
Savory-sweet with umami depth — an elegant twist for your Thanksgiving table.
Ingredients
12 oz cranberries
½ cup orange juice
¼ cup maple syrup
1 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
1 tsp sesame oil
½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
1 green onion, thinly sliced (for garnish)
Toasted sesame seeds (optional garnish)
Instructions
In a saucepan, combine orange juice, maple syrup, soy sauce, and ginger.
Add cranberries and simmer 10–12 minutes until they burst.
Stir in sesame oil and chili flakes.
Cool, then garnish with green onion and sesame seeds before serving.
Pairs beautifully with: tofu roasts, mushroom Wellingtons, or miso-glazed vegetables.
